Maasai Cultural Village

You have probably seen them in photos or videos with very colorful attires. The Maasai tribe are nomads in nature and still maintains their traditional way of life. You will always find them wearing the traditional attires which are either red, purple, and blue patterns of the Maasai shukas.  During the visit, you will not only interact with them but also get a glimpse of their traditional way of life.   The Masai Tribe live in small mud-thatched houses known as Manyatta.  They will break into dance; you will get an amazing experience singing and dancing along. There is room for you to join the dance and measure how high you can jump!  You will also get the opportunity to enter the houses made of sticks, mud, cow dung, grass, urine, and ash.

Drive on to Masai Mara Game Reserve to arrive at your lodge/camp in the early afternoon for check-in and lunch.

16:00hrs Depart for an afternoon game drive in the reserve. The Mara is also noted for its abundance of lions – particularly the superb black manned males. You’ll see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as – if you’re lucky – leopard, cheetah and rhino.   All of the Big Five are residents. You’re sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, charge the batteries and enjoy yourself!

18:00hrs Return to the lodge/camp to refresh for dinner.

This 650 sq kilometre reserve supports the highest density of game to be seen anywhere considering its size.  During the seasonal migrations, Maasai Mara is home to up to a million wildebeest and an equally impressive number of zebra that move into the area from neighbouring Serengeti National Park, in Tanzania.

Balloon Safari – Optional Activity

Experience the Masai Mara on a different level!  Flying high up in the skies above the Masai Mara is the ultimate safari experience.  The landscape below is a never-ending exciting mixture of riverine forests, sprawling savannahs, towering escarpments and rugged rivers.  Against a back drop of stunning, hot-air balloon flights in the Masai Mara give you a unique vantage point of the abundant wildlife living below.  There’s really nothing quite like it, the view is unparalleled and the experience is unforgettable!
