Days 3&4 – Tsavo West National Park

Two full days in Tsavo with morning and afternoon game viewing drives.  Experience the ultimate Kenyan safari adventure with Finch Hattons! Explore a range of immersive wildlife activities that provide you with the most unique and memorable feel – perfect for any momentous occasion or just to explore the wilderness.  Many animals, including hippos, crocodiles, terrapins, and baboons, can be seen from the comfort of your tent or from the camp’s lookout deck.

What would your African safari trip be without the bewildering sight of Tsavo’s famous red elephants? Not to mention other majestic animals such as lions, leopards, buffaloes, hartebeest, zebra, giraffe, oryx, bushbuck, waterbuck, and lesser kudu.  Moreover, 260 bird species have been sighted within the camp. Therefore, be sure to ask your guide to point out the Hornbills, Pied Kingfishers and Superb Starlings.

Savor exceptional cuisine with different dining settings. Enjoy the ambience of a private evening under the stars on our star-gazing terrace or dine surrounded by nature as hippos wallow in the nearby waters. Day 5 – Fly Tsavo West to Masai Mara National Game Reserve

Breakfast in the camp and transfer to the nearby Airstrip for your scheduled flight to Wilson Airport Nairobi and onward to Masai Mara.  On arrival at the Mara airstrip, you will be met by your camp driver guide and transfer to Olare Mara Kempinski Camp with game viewing en-route.

Located in the first private conservancy in the Masai Mara Eco-system, the Olare Motorogi Conservancy promises unrivalled wildlife viewing.  The conservancy and the Masai Mara National Reserve one of Kenya’s most famous wilderness areas. They also provide the backdrop against which is enacted what has been dubbed ‘the greatest wildlife show on earth’, the annual migration of the wildebeest.

Lunch in the camp followed by an afternoon at leisure to relax and enjoy the camp facilities before embarking on a game viewing drive.

The Mara is noted for its abundance of lions – particularly the superb black manned males. You’ll see lots of elephants here often in large herds, as well as – if you’re lucky – leopard, cheetah and rhino.   All of the Big Five are residents. You’re sure to see the African buffalo. Get the cameras ready, charge the batteries and enjoy yourself!

Days 6&7 – Masai Mara

Two full days in the Mara with morning and afternoon game drives in the Conservancy and Masai Mara Game Reserve.  Certainly, the most frequented game reserve in Kenya, Masai Mara is a magnificent landscape of open plains bisected by the Mara River and its tributaries and punctuated by marshes and forests.   This 650 sq kilometer reserve supports the highest density of game to be seen anywhere considering its size.  During the seasonal migrations, Masai Mara is home to up to a million wildebeest and an equally impressive number of Zebra that move into the area from neighboring Serengeti National Park, in Tanzania.

The exclusive camp blends the welcome, simplicity and vibrancy of Masai culture with the opulence of five-star experience.  A central lounge and dining area, a bar set deep within a forested glade and a shaded swimming pool, Olare Mara Kempinski delivers the ultimate fusion of untamed wilderness and sophisticated elegance. Activities and experiences include campfire cocktails, sundowners on the plains, game drives, guided walks, balloon safaris, horse riding and a colorful range of cultural interaction.

All meal and overnight in the Camp

Day 8 – Fly Masai Mara to Nairobi & Departure

Breakfast in the camp and transfer to the nearby airstrip for a morning scheduled flight to Nairobi Wilson Airport.  You will be met by our representative and driven to the renowned Carnivore Restaurant for a farewell lunch compliment of Afio Mai Africa Safaris management.

Carnivore Restaurant

At the Carnivore, meats are roasted on traditional Maasai swords over a huge charcoal pit that dominates the restaurant’s entrance. The rough-hewn beams combine the rustic feel of a rural setting with that of a medieval banqueting hall.  The Carnivore doesn’t conform to the familiar restaurant traditions. First, the soup of the day along with a plate of home baked brown bread and butter are served. Then, an army of carvers move table to table, swords laden carving juicy cuts onto sizzling cast-iron plates. Accompanying the meat feast is a selection of salads, vegetable side dishes and sauces

The feeding frenzy doesn’t stop until you declare defeat by lowering the white paper flag perched atop the central tray. This is then followed by dessert and coffee. A vegetarian menu is also offered.

(A day room to refresh before transfer to the airport can be booked on request at a supplement cost).

Later transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your homebound flight.
